I’ve been a dog lover my entire life and grew up in a home that always had dogs, including a Schnauzer (Hotdog... yes, a challenging name for a Schnauzer), a Rat Terrier (Troy), a mixed terrier (Annie), a Basset Hound (Chloe), and Labrador Retrievers (Tanner and Jax). I even had an orange-bellied newt named Freddy for six years when I was a kid! These days, my apartment doesn’t allow full-time dogs, so I get my “dog fix” by caring for other people’s wonderful pups. I regularly dog sit for three different families, including Luna, an 80-pound Newfoundland/German Shepherd mix; Penelope, a 60-pound Black Mouth Cur/Ridgeback mix; French Bulldogs Bear Bear and Fria and their Pit mix sister, Nova; and my two “fur nephews,” Pit Bull brothers Herman and Freddie. I’m pictured here with Herman. I’ve cared for dogs of all different sizes, ages, breeds, and personalities, and I understand that every dog has their own routine and needs. My dog-sitting experience includes overnight stays, feeding, walks, playtime, ear cleaning, administering routine oral medications, and, most importantly, lots of attention and companionship. I know dogs can be sensitive when their people are away, so I don’t believe in simply showing up, filling a food bowl, and leaving. I make time for pets, play, and company so they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for until their favorite people come home.
